On Election Day in 2017, three thousand three hundred eighteen New York City voters in City Council District 4 voted for change. They shunned a collective 352 years of Democratic and Republican party politics. They cast a vote for people over party, for pragmatism, for women leadership. They voted for Rachel Honig.
As the independent, liberal party candidate for New York City District 4, Rachel received 12% of the total votes cast which is nearly unprecedented in modern-day elections.
This was only the beginning.
“I hope I can call on you next time,” says Rachel. “I promise there will be one!”
